Manuel Michel joined the NMB in 2014 as the Executive Director where he is responsible for developing and overseeing strategic goals, plans, and program initiatives that promote higher awareness and consumption of mangos in the U.S.

Manuel has an agricultural background and has worked on issues affecting the produce industry for 16 years. Prior to joining NMB, Manuel provided regulatory oversight to several federal government commodity programs for USDA’s Marketing Order and Agreement Division. Additionally, he has experience in quality assurance and food safety gained in the Salinas Valley of California, and has also worked as a managing associate attorney in Texas. Manuel has undergraduate degrees from Oregon State University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University.
