Joanne is a registered dietitian and certified dietitian-nutritionist. She manages strategic marketing and public relations campaigns with a nutrition and fitness focus for clients in Padilla’s food and beverage practice. Her current and past clients include the Hass Avocado Board, the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council, BelVita Breakfast Biscuits (Mondelēz), The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers and Post Consumer Brands.

Prior to joining Padilla, Joanne worked as head nutritionist for Village Care of New York, a community-based, nonprofit organization serving individuals living with HIV/AIDS, seniors and individuals in need of continuing care and rehabilitation services.

Before continuing her education in the field of nutrition and public health, Joanne began her career at Edelman Public Relations, where she developed strategic marketing and communications campaigns for Barilla Pasta, Birds Eye Frozen Foods and Starbucks Coffee Company.

Joanne received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in public health nutrition from Hunter College of the City University of New York. She was a member of Hunter’s nutrition club and received an award of academic excellence upon graduation.

Joanne is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the Dietitians in Business and Communications dietetic practice group of the AND. She also serves on the advisory board of Hunter College’s school of nutrition/dietetics and dietetic internship program. Joanne lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two sons.
